Kate Casas is a co-founder of Nexus Group, a full-service government affairs firm based in Jefferson City, established in 2018. Kate and her partners have built Nexus Group into one of the state’s most sought-after lobbying firms, boasting an unparalleled reputation for success in addressing challenging legislative and administrative issues.
With over 15 years of lobbying experience, Kate is known in the capital for her ability to guide clients through complex legislative and political issues. She has cultivated strong relationships with key legislators and regulatory officials, earning her a reputation as one of the most respected lobbyists in Missouri. Her expertise in navigating intricate political and policy matters has been highlighted in the Saint Louis Business Journal and several other publications.
Before founding Nexus Group, Kate began her lobbying career at a boutique firm, representing numerous clients across diverse industries. She moved to Missouri in 2005 to join the prestigious Teach for America program in Saint Louis, where she taught fourth grade for three years. After leaving the classroom in 2008, Kate worked with Urban Strategies, Inc., assessing community needs related to housing and education in neighborhoods across the country. Earlier in her career, she gained valuable experience in Washington, DC, working on a successful congressional campaign in Maryland in 2002 and lobbying on federal housing policy.
Kate grew up in a rural community in Central Illinois and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Political Science from Millikin University and a Master’s in Teaching from Webster University. She resides in the Central West End neighborhood of Saint Louis, MO, with her husband, Martin, and their daughter, Sophia.
